Goals in Pear Suite help you track a member’s progress toward resolving a specific need—like finding housing, getting transportation, or accessing food assistance.

When you add a goal to a member’s profile, you’re creating a roadmap of support. The goal allows you to break down the need into smaller steps, assign follow-up tasks, and document when help was given or progress was made.

You should use a goal when:

  • A member has a need that will take more than one step to address
  • You’re giving them resources, referrals, or activities that require follow-up
  • You want to keep track of progress in a structured way

You don’t need to use a goal for one-time tasks that don’t need tracking—like a single referral or a brief check-in.

If you're ever unsure, a good rule is: If you’ll need to come back and follow up, create a goal.
