When you’re scheduling or starting an activity in Pear Suite, you may notice two different buttons: Start Now and Schedule for Later.

Here’s what each one means:

  • Start Now is used when you’re ready to begin the activity immediately. As soon as you click this, the system begins recording the time and allows you to start filling out the flow questions. This is helpful when you're meeting a member right away and want to capture everything in real time.
  • Schedule for Later is useful when you're planning ahead or preparing activities for a future date. When you select this option, the activity is added to your schedule but won’t begin until you manually start it later on.

Both options are completely valid—it just depends on your workflow. If your work involves a lot of day-of appointments or home visits, Start Now may be more convenient. If you plan visits in advance or work with a team that handles scheduling, Schedule for Later may be more appropriate.

Regardless of which option you choose, you can always adjust the start and end time manually, which we’ll cover next.
